Oceanic Whitetip Shark Race

Carcharhinus longimanus

With large fins that act like wings, the oceanic whitetip shark is built to cover great distances  but is very susceptible to commercial longline fishing. Once believed to be one of the most abundant shark species in the open ocean, its numbers have declined to the point where, this species is now listed as ‘Vulnerable to Extinction’ by the IUCN.
